To many the name does not say anything but for the Italian newspapers - involved in the campaign - has not gone unnoticed by the passing of the man who in 1974 was co-author of an acclaimed phenomenon of mass the Dungeons & Dragons, for sure the parent and perhaps the only real role-playing game.
Forget books, cartoons and evil successful film adaptations: the D & D is a fantasy game, where just a piece of paper, a pencil, a handful of nuts from abstruse forms and money to escape to fantasy land to explore dungeons infested with traps, colliding with terrifying creatures, the likes of trolls, gelatinous cubes (?) rugginofaghi (!), beholders, giants and, above all the dragons ...... + to become more powerful, increasing their fame, their land and aim for the ultimate gift of immortality. Paradoxically, young people today play alone, they need a graphics superpompata and World of Warcraft ... we do we do it under a shed in the garden, or placed on a ping-pong, when it was snack ... . how many summers, how many good memories ..... and how many failed saves.
His passion for the fantastic universe that has been created for him to play this game till the end, despite health problems.
It was not a Nobel Prize but it certainly left its mark, Many people dream of doing and at least he has reached the fateful 36 th level and became immortal.
